How To Listen:
All the audio on this site is stored in either 'Real Audio' or Microsoft's 'Windows Media' format, sometimes both. To listen you will need to be using a reasonably modern browser such as Netscape 4 or Internet Explorer 4 or later, have a sound card and speakers and an audio player 'plug-in' which is a software audio player available free. Many new computers have these installed but if you do not you can get one free from the links below:
1. Real Player G2 or higher - Mac and PC plays both Real Audio and MP3
2. Windows Media Player - PC only. Pays audio recorded in Microsoft's format.
Once downloaded and installed simply return to our front page and click on a link on the left or right listings columns to begin listening.
We have tried to design HearTheBook.com to be as simple to use as possible with no frames and few graphics in order to leave as much bandwidth free for audio as possible. Audio is encoded at a 'bit rate' suitab;le for 56k modems and above. Despite this performance at busy times can be disappointing for a number of reasons outside our control such as the connectivity available through your Internet Service Provider.
